The triumph of Uganda’s double gold medallist (World and Olympic Marathons) Stephen Kiprotich exemplified transcending barriers in sports. Kiprotich’s win united Ugandans globally as we celebrated Uganda’s gold with a lot of national pride. Sporting activities have the power to unify.
It is this unity that we believe translates into development benefits that empower individuals and communities. It is this combined communal effort that we strive to encourage when we facilitate sporting activities or sports personalities such as the Busoga marathon, the Joseph Ruvuna Rezida football tournament, the Uganda Rugby Union’s goat racing event, or a kickboxing tournament with Moses Golola, organised by the Uganda Kick Boxing Federation. The Foundation has also extended support to marathoner Stephen Kiprotich, a sports role model in the country, in promoting sporting events and nurturing fitness in the young and old.
